Celebrate Burns night in Scotland

Come and explore the life of Scottish poet Robert Burns, who is widely celebrated across Scotland and in Scottish communities around the world, the day that Burns was born. Discover a rich cultural heritage with stately homes, including a visit to the National Piping Museum.  Following on, don’t miss out on the picturesque setting and scenic drive through Loch Katrine. On Burns Night, we head to Edinburgh for a day of leisure with time to explore the imposing castle, Royal Mile, Princes Street and Palace of Holyrood House, before returning to a Ceilidh dancing and a Scottish Piper welcoming you for the night’s festivities. 

 

Winnock Hotel, Drymen ***

Situated in the heart of Loch Lomond National Park, Winnock Hotel is set in an 18th-century building.  This family run 3-star hotel in a former 18th century inn, overlooking the village green. It features an on-site bar and a restaurant serving British cuisine.  All the bedrooms have TV, tea/coffee facilities and hairdryer

Day 1

Picked up from home by one of our Door to Door vehicles and then travel by Elite coach to the hotel. We will make a suitable lunchtime en- route.

Day 2

Day 2
Morning tour of cashmere mill in Hawick, we will then continue onto the picturesque setting of Abbotsford House and Gardens, which was home of Sir Walter Scott. If time allows we will visit the lovely genteel Borders town of Peebles

Day 3

Day 3
After breakfast we head to the historic capital city of Edinburgh, with time to explore the imposing Castle, Royal Mile, Princes Street and the Palace of Holyroodhouse the official Scottish residence of the Queen. Then back to the hotel for a Ceilidh and an evening of Scottish festivities

Day 4

Sadly, all good things must come to an end and following breakfast we leave the hotel and start the journey home we expect to arrive back at the drop off point early in the evening, where one of our Door to Door vehicles will be waiting to take you home.
